The WIDA ELD standards emphasize language development in five areas: social and instructional contexts, language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies. Adoption of these standards requires that all teachers integrate language and content instruction to facilitate students’ success. The purpose of this course is to guide educators in applying the WIDA ELD Standards Framework to content-area instruction through a collaborative planning process.
