This course aims to prepare educators to foster and enhance inclusive and effective community engagement practices, particularly to strengthen relationships with multilingual families and community members. 

Objectives

Recognize the cultural and linguistic capital families bring to the school community.

Identify how students’ and families’ cultural and linguistic backgrounds may impact how they engage with school.

Articulate the essential components of culturally responsive, mutually beneficial family-school-community partnerships.
